Reducing food insecurity in and around the Belknap County area

We are a private nonprofit 501c3 started by a single mom.

Open sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week, we offer a free dry goods pantry, ready to heat & eat meals, as well as frozen & refrigerated items ready to cook. Clothing and household items are also sometimes available, dependent upon current donations.

No questions asked, all are welcome.

There are lots of ways to help us help our community:

  • There is a lot to be done on a working farm! Do you have a green thumb? Perhaps you could help in the greenhouse. Love organizing? There is always straightening to be done in Kat’s Closet. Let us know you’d like to help by donating your time, and we will find you a task that matches your skills.

  • Donations of non-expired, non-perishable food— as well as personal hygiene items and pet food— are always appreciated for the food pantry. Donations for Kat’s Closet help us clothe the community while also generating income for our endeavors.

Please see the Donate page for a list of our most-needed pantry items, as well as details on what items are currently being accepted for Kat’s Closet.

  • We hope to generate enthusiasm— and funds!— with events such as our monthly Community Yard Sales. Please follow our Facebook page and check our Events page periodically to see what’s going on. Sharing our Facebook posts about upcoming events is also a huge help, because it gets the news out there more widely. A share costs nothing, and only takes a moment of your time!

  • One-time donations are great, but monthly supporters whose regular contributions we can count on will give us reliable income and help us cover ongoing costs such as electricity and water bills. Cook Country Property Management of Center Harbor is kindly sponsoring us by helping us with our electric bill; perhaps you or your company would like to support us in a similar way?

There is also the option to “adopt” a member of our flock. See the Meet The Flock page for details.

PLEASE NOTE: In response to the government shutdown that caused an interruption to benefits, DHHS and the NH Food Bank began working together to distribute food to SNAP recipients at mobile pantries statewide and in designated partner agency sites:

  • You can search your region of the state for SNAP-only mobile food pantries and food box pick-up sites here.

  • There is a also printable version of the SNAP-only food pantry list available here.
